From an early age, he was immersed in the sounds of jazz legends like Frank Sinatra, Count Basie, and Louis Armstrong. That foundation in music expanded into a deep love for rap, jazz, and rock — genres that would later shape his distinct voice.
In his adolescence, zhai. explored many forms of art. He began as a child actor before discovering beat-making on a cracked version of FL Studio — and that’s when the obsession began.
“I started making music because there were things I couldn’t say out loud — feelings that didn’t fit into regular conversations. Music gave me a voice when I felt like I didn’t have one.”
